After Asia Cup 2022, India will face their arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23 in the T20 World Cup. It will be the opening match for both teams in the world Cup. Instead of the T20I World Cup, team India would not be playing any match against Pakistan as a bilateral cricket series in the 2023-2027 cycle as per ICC’s ‘Future Tour Programme (FTP)’. The apex international governing body announced FTP for the 2023-27 cycle for all 12 full members in August this year.

According to FTP 2023-27, team India will play 38 Tests (20 home and 18 away), 42 ODIs (21 home and 21 away), and 61 T20Is (31 home and 30 away). As expected, India will have to be an overloaded schedule for the above cycle, but here is pertinent to write that there will be no way in for India vs Pakistan bilateral clash. Taj777news already published the news on August 18, 2022.

Expert says that the BCCI can’t go ahead with bilateral series with Pakistan due to political relations between the two nations. Eying on the way, ICC also had not scheduled any match between both for the above cycle.

Coming to the FTP 2023-27 cycle, India’s total matches has been reduced from the previous cycle (163-141) due an ICC event every year and India’s popular Indian Premier League (75-80 days every season), but BCCI secretary Jay Shah has showed his satisfaction with the schedule in a note.

During the announcement of the FTP 2023-27 cycle, ICC had said that a total of 777 international matches- 173 Tests, 281 ODIs, and 323 T20Is will be played among 12 full-member teams that are compared to 83 more than the current cycle.
