After defeating Barbados, India became the second team in Group A which qualified for the semi-finals. Australia is placed on top in Group A. On the other hand, the host England and New Zealand reached in semis from Group B. Both semi-final matches will be played on August 6 at Edgbaston Ground, but India will face whom it could not be decided yet and is assumed to rectify by midnight today? India will face the winner of today’s England vs New Zealand match.


In a do or out from semi’s race battle, India recorded a big win over Barbados by 100 runs and qualified for the semi-finals on Wednesday. Rodrigues Jemimah, the indian batter scored a vital half-century (56 off 46 balls). The all-time star woman pacer Renuka Singh Thakur (4/10 of 4 ov) wreaked havoc on Barbados and helped to enter India into the semi-finals. All women batter of Barbados succumbed on 62/8 scores in 20 overs. Shafali Verma who was run out in the match, scored 43 off 26 balls and Deepti Sharma scored 34 off 28 balls.


India is now one step far from the battle for Gold Medal, Whereas, the host England and New Zealand are set to face each one at today’s night. India will face the winner of English team vs New Zealand on August 6 in the semi-final.
