Virat Kohli Yet To Recover From Groin Injury, Likely To Miss Second ODI Against England: Report

For Virat Kohli, the series of misfortunes has no time to go easy on him. Recently, the player was ruled out of the 3-match ODI series against England due to an unexpected injury in his  groin area. For Virat, no one is able to understand what is happening after all. Once it was a poor batting performance and now a Groin injury same as what KL Rahul had been affected off.

Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah said,

“Hopefully, Virat Kohli will be fine for the next ODI, but I exactly don’t know the status of Virat’s injury”.

But according to a report published by the news report channel ANI and receiving an update from BCCI it stated, Virat’s likelihood of playing the second ODI is doubtful, and Shreyas Iyer will be taking its place.

India recently registered their 10-wicket win against England. By winning the game,the Indians surpassed the Pakistan team which was in third place till yesterday. But a match-winning knock from the Indians led them to shift gears and take their place at the third spot with 108 points. Pakistan remains at the fourth position with 106 ICC points rankings.

Now in getting this position,all credits has to be given to the one and only, Jasprit Bumrah and and secondly the senior player Mohammed Shami’s bowling innings. In total Jasprit took 6 wickets in total whereas in supporting him was Mohammed Shammi who took 3 wickets being the second highest wicket taker.

From the batting side even, it was Rohit getting close to its century making 77 of 58 whereas in supporting him the southpaw Shikhar Dhawan who was ably supportive to the captain making 31 off 54 deliveries.

With smashing the England team with its 10 wickets victory and taking a lead of 1-0 is the 3-match ODI series against England. The Rohit led squad has surprised everyone. The victory has not only brought India at the 3rd spot from 4th, but also Jasprit Bumrah topping the ICC chart becoming the first.

The next match India will be facing against England will be tomorrow i.e., 14th July, 2022.
