Virat Kohli one of the best chase masters in the world; his consistency is amazing: Ajay Jadeja

The former Indian cricket allrounder, Ajay Jadeja, has all praise for India’s former captain Virat Kohli, calling him a player that solidifies his position in the team being just unrivaled.

The former player’s comment comes in a time when Virat Kohli is at his best scoring the most wanted runs for his team as well as for himself. In the recently concluded series against Australia, Virat in the third match went completely ballistic scoring 63 runs from 48 balls and leading India to its victory.

It was not only Virat, making such a Virat performance but Suryakumar Yadav, who’s outstanding, all-round-all-ground innings of 69 runs of 36 deliveries was something to behold at. Both Virat and Suryakumar, took the partnership toll to 104 runs. But here the topic is centered on Virat so we would stick to it.

Just because, Virat was able to chase down the total, the former allrounder Ajay Jadeja feels that he is one of the best run chase masters who understands the pace of the game. After a month-long break, Virat can be seen in his actual form with some fearless cricketing, and on which what Jadeja has to say is worth listening to. He spoke during his interview with cricbuzz,

I mean that’s the key to Indian cricket. I mean it’s been that for a while, for a long time. I mean there was a period when Virat Kohli would score runs and if there was anything, MS Dhoni would finish it       off the end

Ajay Jadeja

Adding further he was seen saying,

But now with the personnel changing around Virat Kohli, its made it easier for him and it’s made it easier for everyone else around him to play at a whole different ball game and the solidity that Virat Kohli provides and for me its always been the solidity of Virat Kohli

Ajay Jadeja

Interestingly, Jadeja who is speaking of consistency is the same person who made some shocking statement in the month of July when he was asked about his own set T20I team players, he would choose for the upcoming T20 World Cup, he said, Virat Kohli would not be in his team of players. Look at what he said,

Virat Kohli is a choice that you have to make. Do you want to play that solidity at the top and then get runs right at the back? It’s that old-style when Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will bat at the top and you would have players like Dhoni where they get 60 in the last 4 overs.

Ajay Jadeja

It depends on whom you want to play. I feel you have a choice, it’s a tough one to make. If I had to pick a T20 side, Virat probably won’t be there,

Ajay Jadeja

This incident reminds of a very common saying in Hindi which says, “Ye duniyakewalugte hue Suraj ko hi salamthoktihn” meaning, “this world only salutes at the rising Sun” Strange but true.
