Royal Challenger’s Bangalore(RCB) star Virat Kohli has fined 10 percent of his match figure on Monday, April 17, for violating the Indian Premier League(IPL) Code of Conduct. This happened during the team’s eight-run loss to Chennai Super Lords (CSK) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
“Royal contenders Bangalore(RCB) batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match figure for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League(IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Lords (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,” the IPL said in a statement.

It said Kohli, who scored six runs on Monday, had” admitted to the position 1 offense under Composition2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct”. For position 1 breaches of the law of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final, the statement added. The IPL statement didn’t go into details about the incident which attracted the law of conduct violation. The fine conceivably came because of Kohli’s buoyant festivity following the redundancy.
Shivam Dube, who was fur at 52 off 26 balls, was dismissed by RCB fast bowler Wayne Parnell. Virat Kohli didn’t have a good game against CSK. After hitting a boundary against Akash Singh, Kohli got unlucky, when the ball hit him off the club and glanced into the wholes, forcing him to walk back to the bunker in the veritably first over of a 227-run chase.
Devon Conway slammed 83 off 45 deliveries while Shivam Dube blazed down to a 27-ball 52 as CSK posted an assessing 226 for six after being asked to the club first. In reply, the team of RCB made 218 for the loss of 8 wickets. RCB commander Faf du Plessis (62 off 33 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (76 off 36) gave dread to CSK till they were at the crinkle.
RCB will play Punjab Lords next at Mohali on April 20.
