Vicky Kaushal will play Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhava, directed by Laxman Utekar and starring Rashmika Mandanna.

Some pictures from the second season of Chhava have leaked on X. Vicky sports a long beard and ties his long locks into a Shiva-like bun.. She wears a beige sleeveless jacket, a brown dhoti and a bunch of traditional accessories. He looks determined as he walks away.

About Chhava

Laxman Utekar’s Chhava, a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, marks the first collaboration between actors Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. While Vicky plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika takes on the role of his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale, in the film.

Rashmika recently shot for her role in the film. After finishing the film, he took to Instagram and praised the team. Congratulating Laxman and Vicky for being good partners on the sets, Rashmika wrote, “Laxman Utekar sir… I wonder how a man can manage such a big platform with at least 1,500 employees with peace of mind and confidence.”

“Sir, you see me as Yesubai when no one in the world will think about it and I really think how, not only me. The whole country will think how.. but watching these shows makes me cry… you got such a performance out of me that I can’t wait for the world to watch,” he wrote. Speaking to Vicky as Maharaj, Rashmika said she had a great time interacting with the actor. “It is a pleasure to work with you. You are very warm and kind (except the last day when you took my word for it) but most of the time you are surprised. I’m playing music. You are a gem. I will wish the best for you man. It was such a pleasure. My mom told me to send you my thanks (sic),” he added. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and is expected to hit the screens on December 6.
