On Sunday, at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Spain’s 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz created history after winning his maiden Grand Slam Title (US Open 2022 men’s singles title). He defeated 23-year-old Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-1), 6-3. It was his first-ever victory in the men’s singles final as well as US Open. With this win, Alcaraz became the youngest world number one in the history of tennis.

Alcaraz broke former Australian Youngest tennis player Lleyton Glynn Hewitt’s record who had won his first-ever men’s singles Grand Slam Title at the age of 20 years and 9 months in November 2001.
