"Some people retire only once" - Amit Mishra trolls Shahid Afridi for retirement comment on Virat Kohli

In a recent and interesting verbal faceoff, the suggestion made by 4-times retired Shahid Afridi about Virat Kohli didn’t seem going well with many of the Indian fans and player but especially Amit Mishra, who is a former Indian cricket player not taking the suggestion for granted took a slight dig at Afridi. Now how he took that dig, we’ll tell in the twitter comment shared by both individuals below.

Recently, Shahid Afridi was seen asking Virat Kohli to retire from international cricket on a high note. But Amit Mishra responded in his unique way saying,

Dear Afridi, some people retire only once so please spare Virat Kohli from all this

Amit Mishra

Why the comment made by Amit Mishra was taken as a slight dig, because the Pakistani player, Shahid Afridi, in his lifetime retired from international cricket almost 4-times, and then making a comeback. Let us understand the events in which Shahid Afridi felt it was the time, before making his final call.

  • His first announcement was when he retired in 2006 from the longest format of the game (test Cricket). But in just a matter of two weeks probably realizing his mistake, he made a comeback. Later he retired from test cricket finally in 2010.
  • He then decided in 2011 to retire from the white ball cricket (ODI) but just after 5 months changed his mind, making a comeback.
  • Then in 2015 he finally took retirement from the ODI’s and then in 2017 from T20I’s, respectively.

To inform you all, despite losing the Asia Cup 2022, Virat scored 276 runs becoming the highest run getter in the series including a massive 122* runs making his first century after 2 and a half years against Afghanistan.

For Virat Kohli, it probably was the knot opening moment after years of struggle but after coming to the form, there are many of those who are happy and many of those who aren’t such as mentioned above.
