Mamata Says She will request PM Modi

On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was stunned by knowing removal of Sourav Ganguly from the BCCI President post. She further stated that she will urge PM Modi to allow Sourav Ganguli to contest ICC Chief Post’s election.

Mamata Banerjee is on a four-day tour to North Bengal. When she got to know about this news, she further commented that

Sourav Ganguly completed the term of 3 years as BCCI President. He was a very good Indian Skipper during his time and very good at administration during his BCCI tenure. Mr. Shah retained his son Jay Shah for the second term as the Secretary, of BCCI. We do not have any issue with that, but we must know why Sourav Ganguli has been removed upon the term completion despite good work. What is his Fault? I will personally request and urge PM Modi to allow Sourav Ganguli to contest for the ICC Chief elections?

In the earlier phase, all parties including TMC Congress and CPI(M) registered their disappointment and concern over the removal of Sourav Ganguly from the BCCI body. As per their view, Sourav has paid the price for not saying Yes to BJP.

During his statement, Suvendu Adhikari, the prime opponent of Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, asked not to mix up politics with sports. PM Modi does not interfere in such a thing. He asked for the removal of Shahrukh Khan in replacement of Sourav Ganguli as the brand ambassador of West Bengal.
