New Zealand and South Africa have unveiled their kits for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Which will begin on June 1 in West Indies and the United States.
Officials at New Zealand Cricket (NZC) unveiled the jersey on Monday, with a color scheme reminiscent of their kit from the 1990s. “Team kits for the T20WorldCup 2024 are available at the NZC store from tomorrow.
Many players, James Neesham, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee have worn the jersey in photographs. New Zealand reached the final of the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup hosted in the United Arab Emirates, where Australia defeated them.
In the upcoming tournament, New Zealand is placed in Group C alongside West Indies, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and Uganda. Their opening match against Afghanistan is scheduled for June 7.
On Sunday, South Africa unveiled its uniform, featuring the most yellow hue, with the colors of its national flag adorning the shoulders. The King Protea, South Africa’s national flower, appears prominently in the shirt.
South Africa failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the last T20 World Cup. Moreover, a shock defeat to the Netherlands knocked them out of the tournament. In the next edition, South Africa appeared in Group D, alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Nepal. They will face Sri Lanka in their first match on June 3.
New Zealand have also announced their squad for the tournament, with Kane Williamson set to lead the team.
