Rohit Sharma becomes fastest captain to win 50 matches in international cricket history and 1st Indian skipper to win a t20 series against south Africa at home

It seems that for the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, it is the season, with loads of happiness and records. Why we say so, is because while stepping as captain in the 2nd T20I match against South Africa, and winning it, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian captain to win 50 matches in international cricket out of 62 which is across all three formats.

Speaking of all format, the stats are as follows:

  • T20I Cricket – Won 35 matches of 44 matches
  • ODI Cricket – Won 13 matches of 16 matches
  • Test Cricket – Played only One Test against Sri Lanka and won it by 2-0.

In yet another, Rohit Sharma’s name was recorded to be first Indian captain to beat South Africa in a T20I series in India. It was only Virat Kohli, who achieved such a feat in Johannesburg, in 2018.

Still there is one title that Rohit Sharma will want to add in his profile and that would be the ICC Championship or T20 World Cup Title, and if he does the days are not far from him when his name will be registered in India’s greatest captain of all times. The last T20 world cup that the Indian team won was in 2007.
