Novak Djokovic says future of tennis looks bright after emergence of Carlos Alcaraz

NEW DELHI: Novak Djokovic, the world’s number one tennis player, isn’t showing any signs of decelerating down at 36, despite winning three out of the four Grand Slam titles in 2023. Djokovic believes the future of tennis is in excellent hands, largely due to the emergence of the talented youthful player, Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic’s bournes of securing all four Grand Slam titles in a single timetable time were baffled at Wimbledon, where he was defeated in a challenging five- set match by 20- time-old Alcaraz. This momentous result was seen as a turning point in men’s tennis, motioning the rise of a new generation.

still, Djokovic fleetly rebounded, defeating Alcaraz in a thrilling final at Cincinnati and latterly deciding a record- tying 24th major title at the US Open before this month.

Speaking during the All- Star Match previous to golf’s 44th Ryder Cup, Djokovic participated his views on the future of tennis, stating,” I suppose tennis, surely the future is looking good with Carlos leading that field.” He expressed enthusiasm for the instigative hassles they have had, pressing their matches at Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and Cincinnati. Djokovic noted that these contests have contributed to the sport by fostering new battles.

While feting the significance of his battles with Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, and Andy Murray, Djokovic expressed his expedients for further matches against Carlos Alcaraz.” Hopefully, I will play him as numerous times as I played the other guys, and that will mean I will be playing for times to come. But I misdoubt that; let’s see how it goes,” he remarked.

Novak Djokovic also reflected on his outstanding time, emphasizing the significance of Grand Slam palms at this stage of his career. He expressed his satisfaction with winning three out of four Slams and reaching another final, describing it as an achievement that exceeded his prospects.

Djokovic added,” I have had a fantastic time. Grand Slams are the bones that count the most for me at this point of my career, they are the bones where I want to play my stylish tennis.

” This time,( winning) three out of four Slams and another final, I could not ask for further.”
