Novak Djokovic out of US Open due to Covid-19 Vaccination

Novak Djokovic will not play in the US Open due to his Covid-19 vaccination status. As expected, he would not be allowed to travel to the United States without having covid-19 vaccine dose.

The Serbian tennis star professional announced his withdrawal from the US Open on Twitter on Thursday while writing,

Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open.

Following the above announcement, Novak’s vaccine saga ended that continued to the limelight in the arena of tennis sport.

Earlier, a group of US-Serbia citizens had run an online campaign to allow Novak in the US without the Covid-19 vaccine, at a time the campaign arrived to US president Joe Biden’s office.

 After the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States made a change in travel rules, according to the new rule, foreign citizens, who have not taken the Covid-19 vaccine dose are currently unable to enter the United States. On the other hand, Djokovic has said that he would not get the vaccine whether he would be allowed or not to participate in the Grand Championship.

            Djokovic, the record 21 times Grand Slam winner has won three times US Open Grand Slam titles in 2011, 2015, and 2018.
