Lionel Messi To Headline Maradona ‘Match For Peace’ Homage

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi will headline a star-studded line-up for a ‘match for peace’ in tribute to compatriot soccer great Diego Maradona on November 14 in Rome, Pope Francis’s architected foundation announced on Monday that will be the organizer of the match. In addition to the the-35-year-old PSG man, former Brazilian champion Ronaldinho, Italian World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon and Roma’s Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho confirmed their presence in a video published by the WEPLAYFORPEACE platform.

 It will be the third edition of the ‘match for peace’ in memory of former World Cup winner Maradona who passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60 years due to heart failure.
