The obsessed sport with milestones that measure greatness. But that often does itself a disservice.

But some milestones mean something and are highlights of an athlete’s entire career. On Tuesday night (Wednesday morning in India), LeBron James took the position held by the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar since 1984. LeBron said he needed 36 points to pass Kareem in his game against Oklahoma City against the Thunder. In the third quarter, he broke through two defenders with his jump, fading away from him in the process. Finally, he reached to achieve 38,388. point.

LeBron James is one of the greatest players to ever start playing basketball. He won four NBA titles and made a total of 10 appearances in his NBA Finals. Over a 20-year career that began in 2003, he has appeared in 1,409 games, averaging 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. The Los Angeles Lakers are 7.1.

The story of LeBron James begins in Akron, Ohio, where he had a single mother. Despite difficulties growing up in downtown Akron, James’ athleticism had spotted early on. Not only was he a great basketball player in high school, but he was also the school’s star football player.  Tires have always been his mandate. There were combining sheer power for his size with the unparalleled agility of his feet. He had his four years as a St. Vincent St. player. Mary High School’s James has shown his mettle by propelling a little-known college team into the national spotlight.

Those are countless victories.

During his junior season, LeBron James appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, calling him “The Chosen One.” Even in the NBA, James didn’t carry the weight of expectations. Those are leading to widespread comparisons to Michael Jordan and “magic” Johnson.

And James did more than anyone could have imagined. Few kid prodigies end up succeeding because sports are always looking for the “next big thing.” LeBron as he reflects on James becoming the all-time leading scorer in his NBA history.
