- Senior selection committee announced after BCCI medical team’s declaration
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Thursday that KL Rahul is fit to hit and he will lead India in the upcoming scheduled three matches ODI series against Zimbabwe. Shikhar Dhawan has been named to play Rahul’s deputy role in the series.
The BCCI tweeted that Senior Selection Committee took the decision over Rahul after the board medical team’s declaration.
Rahul, who was suffering from a sports hernia and was supposed to be a part of the Indian team against West Indies recent tour, but a few days ago before starting the series he tested Covid-19 positive and could not play.
Rahul, the right-handed batter was not initially selected for the Zimbabwe tour during the time selection because his medical team did not allow him to play. The medical team fully assured him that he can play for Asia Cup-2022.
However, the BCCI medical team has now given an all-clear certificate after measuring his fresh fitness tests. The board medical team said, We took several important tests and he cleared in all and now fit to back in India team.

Soon after medical team’s declaration, The BCCI tweeted, KL Rahul cleared to play; set to lead Team India in Zimbabwe.
