"Keeping That Option Open": Mithali Raj On Playing In Women's IPL

The former Indian women’s cricket team skipper Mithali Raj is set to comeback of retirement as she is looking to be a part of first-ever woman Indian Premier League(IPL) which is supposed to take place in upcoming few months. BCCI has reportedly decided to organise a six team women’s IPL from 2023 in a apex council level meeting recently in Mumbai.

          Earlier, Mithali the top woman batter ever in her splendid 23-year international career had announced fro retirement in last month. She has reserved much record on her name as 7805 ODI runs in 232 matches at an average just over 50. She has scored 2364 runs in total 89 T20Is. She had played 12 test matches and score 699 runs.

Mithali said speaking in the ICC’s 100% cricket Podcast Programme.

          I am glad to be a part of first-ever women’s IPL which is supposed to held in early next year. Though I have announced my retirement from International Cricket in last month, but it would be lovely to join first edition of above domestic league

         

she added,

I am keeping that option open; I have not yet decided. There are a few months to take be held women’s IPL

          She has ended her career as top run scorer in ODI. When she announced her ending from International cricket she was No. 1 run scorer with 1813 more than then second ranking England Captain Charlotte Edwards.
