  • Babar credits his success to God first while secondly to the hard work and good performances

Babar Azam is at his all-time peak surpassing all the major names in cricket with remains with the likes of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson. His form in limited overs has yet another record to add after he surpasses Virat Kohli in making 1000 run mark in just 13 innings.

In doing so it took Virat Kohli 17 innings in total build a record such as the player ahead can break. Babar Azam’s feat in international cricket isn’t a new thing and has been consistent over the past few years. His becoming captain and surpassing every name one after the another has made him one of the most important cricketers so far.

Firstly, it was Virat in a similar role but over the past few years his under performance has attracted a lot of eyeballs noticing him every minute for every single innings that he plays.

In a press conference, ahead of Pakistan’s two test series against the island nation team Sri Lanka, Babar was asked by a reporter, two questions in general. But out the two questions the reply given to the first question by Babar Azam was an epic one and sort of a teasing one,

“I have two questions. My first question is… you recently broke Virat Kohli’s record…”. Babar stopped the reported and asked, ‘Kaun sa’ (which one)?”

It cannot be said that whether the cricketer was aware of the feat he has achieved but the reporter had to remind him (Babar) that,

“You have remained No. 1 in T20Is for the longest time.”

To that Babar response was,

“I would like to thank god. There is hard work involved and that is why I have been able to give good performances.”

In the ICC charts of rankings, especially in the ODI as well as the T20I format, Babar remains at first position.
