Jasprit Bumrah Will Miss IPL 2023 Due To A Fitness Issue

Jasprit Bumrah Will Miss IPL 2023

India’s leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah could miss the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, as media reports said on Sunday. Jasprit Bumrah missed major tournaments such as the Asian Cup and T20 World Cup last year. He will miss several more major tournaments in the coming months as he continues to recover from his back injury.

Jasprit Bumrah missed the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series. India is leading 2-0 in his Four-Test series. As Bumrah is still struggling with the back injury, he was not selected for his first two Tests. His name did not appear in the announced squad for his third and his fourth games. It was previously reported that Bumrah was not selected for the match against Australia.

The National Cricket Academy (NCA), where Bumrah is undergoing rehabilitation, did not allow him to play in international matches. Bumrah’s injuries are more serious than previously thought, according to Cricbuzz’s latest report, which will keep him out of future missions. Hope the Pacer will get fit in the cup.

The previous plan was there for Bumrah’s return to the IPL with BCCI monitoring his workload. But now Team India’s board, NCA, and management have decided on a new position for his return to competition.

Bumrah suffered a lower stress fracture for the first time since the England tour in July. He then made a return in September during the T20I home series against Australia. But he suffered another back injury that has since put him out of action.

Bumrah’s absence will be a blow for Mumbai and his Indians. They will start their IPL 2023 campaign with a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2.
