For all those who believed in the news regarding Bumrah being ruled out of the T20 world cup, please hold on. The BCCI president Saurav Ganguly has denied all the reports and has insisted Bumrah still reckoned to board the flight to Australia.
Earlier the reports were firing on all social media platforms that Bumrah has been ruled out from the T20 world Cup according to secret resources inside the BCCI. A BCCI official confirmed while speaking to the press trust of India on the surety of anonymity, stating,
‘Bumrah is not going to play the World T20 for sure. He has a serious back condition. It’s a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months,’
BCCI
But for the meanwhile Ganguly has cleared the cloud denying all the rumors, and has given a hope to all the fans and media personnels to keep fingers crossed and wait till 3-4 days. Let’s have look in the statement given by Saurav in his own words,
“No. Bumrah is not out of the World Cup yet. Let’s see what happens,”
Sourav Ganguly
He added further,
Fingers crossed. I don’t know (if he will travel to Australia). We will find out in 3-4 days. We have got our fingers crossed. Don’t rule him out yet,
Sourav Ganguly
He said all the above while speaking to the Revsportz sports news agency.
Bumrah, is one of the marquee players of the Indian team, so a news like the above is really a shocker for most of the Indian cricket fans, (Until it is confirmed). But, let say if Jasprit through case isn’t able to play the T20 World cup, then the players matching his skill set would be Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Supporting them would be Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh.
Bumrah being in or out is one thing, but another star player Ravindra Jadeja’s out of the tournament was a real disaster. Yes, you heard this right. Ravindra Jadeja is out of the T20 World Cup due to his knee injury, but to fill in the blanks, it will be Axar Patel, who with his stellar all-round performance against Australia has impressed everyone.
We’ll keep a track on the move and development in Jasprit’s entry or exit, till then be with us.
