The India Vs. South Africa T20I home series is all set to begin from tomorrow i.e., 9th June, 2022 and both teams have been seen sweating a lot at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (Formerly as Feroseshah Kotla Stadium).

Well, amidst of rising criticism for its top three players and the range of options with probable combinations from the IPL, the coach Rahul Dravid, has made it very clear that those with consistent results will be preferred the most. Rahul Dravid as a veteran knows how things work in the game of cricket and without falling into any trap has abstained himself in making any statements except for a word very much heard from his as “Process”.

Being a firm believer of consistency and giving time to people to settle in, the coach recently stated,

“I am someone who likes consistency and to give people time to settle in. Arshdeep has also done well. He is also an exciting player who bowls well. We have little bit of experience in Harshal Patel, Avesh khan and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who played in the last series. It is exciting to have the young guys as well”

So, you see how the coach is thinking and strategizing ahead of the most important tournament of the year i.e., T20 World Cup in Australia, which is later this year. Rahul’s primary focus, we can say, is not limited to the India vs South Africa T20I series, but extends particularly long up to the T20 World Cup. And this is where a strong group of players from the team is needed to showcase their potential and for which the consistency is the strongest parameter to surpass.

In doing so, Dravid is making sure that all his players from top to the middle, and middle to the end are the best.

Backing his Top end batting order

Everybody knows how the first three batsman with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul has performed in the last IPL and due to which the BCCI as well as the players have faced a lot of criticism. But the “The wall” (Rahul Dravid also known as) has come in full support for his top most batters referring them as top-class batters. He stated,

“We know our top three is quality. They are top class. There will be slightly different top three in this series but what we are looking for is a positive start and playing according to the situation”

So, from the above statement we can expect the backing Dravid has provided for his senior batters but also is agreeing in making slightest of changes depending upon the situation. The statement made by the coach again reflects his agenda very clearly about Consistency, and if not met, the way ahead for those not getting qualified based on the term mentioned above, will have to do a further overhauling of themselves.

The players from whom, the most is expected are Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Venkatesh Iyer as all-rounder, KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer as batters, whereas, Harshal Patel, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik as Bowlers very much.
