India vs England 2022: Virat Kohli an inspiring figure, don't look at his 100s as success, says India coach Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid the legendary player and the current captain of the Indian team has come forward in support of Virat Kohli calling him an inspiring figure who hard works a lot. He also expressed sadness over those who are judging a player’s success by the three numbers he or she makes i.e., 100s.

As a coach, Rahul Dravid still believes in Virat’s ability and is quite confident about him. Not going to far, Virat shown good signs from the pitch of Leicestershire for helping his team with his half century. However, still believes the former captain to display an impactful performance in the upcoming match against England starting from tomorrow.

Rahul said,

“He is the most hard-working guy; I have come across – His hunger desire and the way he prepares and looks after himself. Even the way he played in the practice match at Leicester, he was keen on playing against our bowlers like Bumrah. He’s ticking all the right boxes. I don’t think he needs any extra motivation”

The word ‘extra motivation’ from Rahul probably seems to have been a sarcastic reply to those who have been after Virat Kohli’s and his form past since years of his underperformance.

Rahul urged all those who are concerned of Virat’s performance, said not to focus upon the three figures as a success but see as coach’s perspective which needs a match winning performance and not three figures and on. Rahul praised Virat, that he inspires people in the dressing room as well.

Dravid highlighted, Kohli’s 79 runs match winning performance in the test in Cape town as one of his best as it showcases the match that he has won and not the three figures he has made.

Rahul Dravid was appointed the coach of the Indian cricket team last November and since then has seen a lot of changes happening in the team.

Team India will next face England. It will be the fifth Test which rescheduled from last year and was cancelled due to COVID outbreak inside the Indian team and all over.
