Hardik Pandya rises to best-ever fifth spot in ICC T20I all-rounder rankings

India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has jumped eight numbers to a best-ever fifth position on the latest ICC T20 men’s all-rounder rankings just after his excellent outing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

 Pandya smashed 33 runs off 17 balls and picked 3/25 wickets in 4 overs in the match against Pakistan, showing how will he be impactful for the team in the upcoming T20 World Cup that is scheduled to take place in
Australia, and start in October.

Elsewhere, Afghanistan’s blistering start to the ongoing Asia Cup championships has not gone unnoticed, with a number of players rewarded in the updated ICC ranking.

An ICC press said Rashid Khan’s push for the No. 1 bowler position has been helped with a two-number jump to third with 708 points, over fellow leg-spinners Adil Rashid and Adam Zampa.

Left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi (716 points) of South Africa is next in Rashid’s sights, though Josh Hazlewood (792 points) of Australia boasts a strong margin at the top of the ranking list.

In the order, Rashid’s compatriot Mujeeb Ur Rahmanhas reached in top-10 with a seven-numbers moved up with 660 points, currently 1 number down India’s Bhuvaneshvar Kumar (661 points) whose top figure 4/26 against Pakistan helped the men in blue for Victory.

In the batting T20 top ten, there were no new entrants, but a push was seen from Pakistani wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan’s side who scored highest (43 off 42 balls) in India vs Pakistan match in Asia Cup on Sunday, moving up to second (796 points) to join Babar Azam in the top two, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav skipped to the third position in T20 top -10 batters ranking.

Afghanistan’s HazratullahZazai’s innings- 23 off 26 balls and 37 off 28 balls led to a three-place rise to 14th (611 points), while his teammate RahmanullahGurbaz meanwhile moved up five places to 29th.
