As there is saying, “Everyone salutes the rising sun” applies fit for the Gujrat Titans skipper & the winning captain of the IPL. One and a half year ago, the player didn’t even had chance to get selected anywhere but after lots of hustle and bustle finally Hardik firstly made his place as a captain in the GT team and now after winning the Tata IPL 2022, is a name that everyone knows and is now seeking his maiden call as captain in Team India for a two-match series against the Irish team. However, in surprising move made by the selectors, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the deputy of team India
By this we can see how the BCCI is making a trial-and-error approach ahead of the T20 World Cup this year. Well, coming back to the point, team India will be visiting the host nation Ireland just before the commencement date of June 26th and will see its closure on June 28th. On the other end, Rahul Tripahi after his outstanding innings from IPL of 413 off 14 games with strike rate of 158.23 has got his maiden call for the series.
One more surprising fact about this series is that VVS Laxman has been chosen to be the coach along with other NCA coach team members like Sitanshu Kotak, Munish Bali and Sairaj Bahutale. Now, why they have chosen is question to ask ourselves but technically of we thinking could possibly be due to the hectic schedule team is having, and probably the selectors are keeping as many as options open just to get the best before the mega tournament.
Speaking about Rahul Dravid’s other boys like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah just today only they boarded their flight for London in the wee hours, accompanied by other teammates with likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Hanuma Vihari, KS Bharat, Shardul Thakur, and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Rahul Dravid hasn’t joined the boys yet and is waiting for the ongoing 5 – Match T20I series to conclude against the proteas to end on Sunday.
The second set of players that are headed to London for a test series against the English carried from last year will start from July 1st till July 5th of this year.
However, the Hardik led squad for the Ireland T20I series will be as below:
