FIH Hockey Ranking:Indian men’s hockey team slips in ranking, women’s team has the advantage

The Indian men’s hockey team on Monday slipped one place to fourth in the new list of FIH World Rankings released. At the same time, the women’s hockey team reached the sixth position after getting the advantage of one place.

In the new rankings, Australia (2842.258) and the Netherlands (3049.495) are at the top in the men’s and women’s categories. In the men’s category, Netherlands (2465.707) replaced India (2366.990) to finish third.

On the other hand, the Indian women’s team (2029.396) pushed Spain (2016.149) to seventh place to secure the sixth position. The Indian team is currently busy playing the Asia Hockey Cup.

The Indian team has reached the Super-4 stage in the Asia Cup. India’s youth team has entered the field in the Asia Cup hockey. Former veteran hockey player Sardar Singh is coaching the team. The Indian team would like to strengthen their claim for the World Cup and Commonwealth Games by winning this tournament.
