Team India can still qualify for Asia Cup 2022 finals but in the given scenario, by depending on another team’s gameplay i.e., win or lose to what we mean here. India’s defeat from the Lankan’s army, brutally by 6 wickets is something inevitable to be changed now, but as looking at the time’s ahead, Team India as part of the qualifying game play has another team for the clash and that is the Afghanistan team on September 8th, 2022.
But just by beating the Afghanistan team, is not something that will lead team India into finals but if the Afghanistan team in a match prior with Pakistan (A Day ahead of India match) becomes able to defeat the men in green, then there are possibilities that the Indian team would get into the finals.
To simply the juggle that how India can qualify the finals, please refer below,
- Firstly, Afghanistan needs to defeat Pakistan on September 7th, 2022 with good Net Run Rate (NRR)
- Secondly, India needs to defeat Afghanistan with a good run-rate in the match that is on September 8th.
- For India to qualify for the finals, Sri Lanka also needs to defeat Pakistan
The chances for the Indian team are highly unlikely as there is no control of the fate ahead. Every team after reaching this far, would not like to lose and most assuredly would put their best foot forward to come to the finals, irrespective of what.
But amongst all the worry is, if the Pakistani team manages to defeat the Afghanistan team, then undoubtedly the fate of the Indian team will be sealed then and there itself, which gets knocked out of the tournament.
However, it will be early to say that if the Pakistan team would win or the Afghanistan does this time, but one thing is for sure that all the team will put their best efforts and we expect this from the newbie team Afghanistan, as they haven’t won a single series like this and would be longing to achieve one this time.
