“Don’t Overthink That Perfect Ending”: Roger Federer’s Latest Post Goes Viral

Swiss Tennis Legend Roger Federer, who played his career’s last match as a double’s loss at Laver Cup 2022 in London alongside long-time rival Rafael Nadal for Team Europe last week. Taking to Instagram, he highlighted how he lost his last doubles, singles, and team event. The 41-year-old also advised not to overthink that “perfect ending.”

We all hope for a fairytale ending. Here’s how mine went: Lost [crying emoji] my last singles. Lost [crying emoji] my last doubles. Lost [crying emoji] my last team event. Lost [crying emoji] my voice during the week. Lost [crying emoji] my job. But still, my retirement could not have been more perfect and I’m so happy with how everything went. [laughing emoji] So, don’t overthink that perfect ending, yours will always be amazing in your own way…[two sparking emojis], Federer wrote on Instagram.

After his career’s last match at Laver Cup, the 20 Grand Slam Title winner, and the most Wimbledon Title (8) winner in men’s singles was seen getting emotional and later in tears. Nadal, also could not hold back his tears and the picture of the duo getting emotional in tandem went viral.

The two stars playing for Team Europe went down to Team World’s Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock-4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 11-9 at the O2 arena in London.
