Deepak Chahar Ruled Out of T20 World Cup, Shardul Thakur set To Replace ‘Reserve Player’- Report

Team India fast bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to fitness issues. Earlier, the 30-year-old has been ruled out of two games of the India vs South Africa ODIs due to stiffness in his back. The series concluded yesterday in Delhi.

Chahar was part of the India squad for T20 World Cup as a standby player, but he has been reportedly ruled out of the multinational tournament due to fitness cause. He is the second player after Jasprit Bumrah who have been ruled out of the World Cup.

According to reports, the All-India Senior Selection Committee is waiting to name a replacement for two stars, but it is being said that Shardul Thakur may be an option for Deepak Chahar in reserve players.

At present, team India is in Australia, and practicing hard in the net for the T20 World Cup.

Team India will start their T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, and will face South Africa on October 30, then, against Bangladesh on November 2, thereafter, will play a qualifier on November 6 in Melbourne.
