Cristiano Ronaldo reached another milestone in his splendid career by scoring 700 club goals. The Manchester United forward scored his 700th goal against Everton on Sunday, and he took Man United to victory 2-1.
The the-37-year-old Portuguese recorded his awaited milestone goal 20 years and two days after his first-ever club goal. He scored his first-ever goal for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese Primeira Liga in the year 2002.
The goal against Everton on Sunday took his tally to 144 for Man United across his two spells at the club. And 26 goals since his return to the Old Trafford-based club.
He scored a total of 450 goals for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus, and five (5) for Sporting Lisbon during his early career.
Ronaldo began the Everton game on the bench but came on for injured Anthony Martial in the 29thminute and scored what proved to be the winner 15 minutes later as Man United went 2-1 up. During the match, Everton head Frank Lampard and Man United manager Erik ten Hag were both in awe of the forward’s achievements.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner (2 less than Argentine Lionel Messi) now jumped over Lionel Messi who scored 691 club goals for Barcelona and Nasser Al-Khelaifi headed Paris St-Germain.
Ronaldo is the No. 1 in the world in the highest international goal scorer list. He scored a total of 117 goals internationally whereas Messi has only 90 goals record.
