Before the fifth test against England BCCI issue warning against some of its player for hanging out in public and flouting the COVID precautionary norms
The BCCI or the Board of control for cricket in India isn’t happy with the news about Rohit Sharma getting tested positive of COVID and secondly, also doesn’t seem happy with the other players not following the necessary COVID precautionary methods ahead of the rescheduled fifth test series against England, starting from July 1st.
Rohit Sharma, still the choice captain of the Indian cricket team has recently contracted with COVID Virus and has been kept in isolation in his hotel room until he fully recovers. The incident when the player was diagnosed with COVID Virus came on Sunday.
Apart from Rohit, if there was somebody else not following the COVID precautionary rules ahead of the fifth match against England were Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Hardik Pandya too, who were seen outside the streets roaming and having a casual time taking picture with fans on the streets of Leicestershire jeopardizing the entire tour.
Now the BCCI expressing concerns over its players and their actions had led the BCCI to issue a warning against all the players involved and have asked them to take precautions on the hour.
“The board has scolded some players over their habit of hanging out in public. It also seems some players went in public and clicked pictures with fans, which could be dangerous. We had told them to stay careful but they still often roamed around in the city which is not required, so we asked them again to take precautions,”
Why did BCCI had to be so strict?
As mentioned above, after Rohit Sharma has tested positive ahead of the crucial match against England, it has raised concerns not only about the players health but also the health of other players too which if not handled with care could lead to jeopardizing the entire game again.
Now, to fill the void that Rohit has left, Mayank Agrawal has been called from India along with likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Prasidh Krishna to join the squad.
