The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Thursday forced up the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over his comments. It was created once the announcement of the ACC calendar 2023-24 and the pathway structure was given. PCB’s interim chairman Najam Sethi criticized Jay Shah for presenting the framework and calendar in a “unilateral” manner. (Read Also: 5 IPL Franchisees are most likely to buy Women’s IPL Teams)
Now, the Asian cricketing body has hit back. It has suggested, that the calendar be shared with all members, besides the Pakistan Board, on December 2022. However, there was no response from their side. However, another member shared their opinion on the program and structure.
“Thank you @JayShah for unilaterally presenting @ACCMedia1 structure & calendar 2023-24, significantly concerning Asia Cup 2023 Pakistan is that the event host. Whereas you’re at it, you may boot scrutinize our PSL 2023 Structure and Calendar! A quick response would be valued,” Sethi had commented.
In response, the ACC statement read: “It has come to our notice that Shri Najam Sethi, Chairman, PCB has created an inquiry with the ACC Chairman. It is for unilaterally finalizing the calendar and location of the same. ACC needs to clarify that it’s followed well-established and due process. The calendar was approved by its Development Committee and Finance and promoting Committee through a meeting stayed December 13, 2022.
The calendar was communicated severally to any or all the collaborating members, besides the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), through an email on December 22, 2022. Whereas responses were received from some member boards, no comments or urged amendments were received from the PCB.
In scan of the above, Mr. Sethi’s comments on social media platforms are unwarranted and are powerfully refuted by ACC.”
