After losing against Australia and stating back to back falling of wicket the reason behind, the Indian women’s cricket team settled down for Silver. It was Harmanpreet’s debut in the commonwealth games but in the thrilling finals it wasn’t India but Australia to win the Gold. Harmanpreet said,
The Silver medal is a big achievement. This is the first time we participated in the Commonwealth Games and it’s a big achievement,

There was a time when the team as well as several other fans from all over the world thought that India would win this time, but as per Kaur, the last 4-5 overs weren’t so good and proved to be fatal for the team.
We created a situation from where we could have won the match but the last 4-5overs didn’t go the way we expected it to. But that’s the beauty of cricket. Losing back-to-back wickets was the turning point. In that situation, if we had looked for singles and doubles other than looking for boundaries, we could have hit the big ones at the end with wickets in hand. We would have had less pressure. Runs came but we kept losing wickets at regular intervals,
But even after standing 2nd in the line, Kaur was optimistic about the Women’s IPL that most probably will be conducted the next year (2023). Kaur said,
I think women’s IPL can be a big turning point for us. Our players do get opportunities to play overseas leagues. I feel domestic players will get a great platform in the women’s IPL. We have talented women’s cricketers in the country but many of them don’t have the experience of the big stages. Women’s IPL will be a great platform for them,

A few months ago, Jay Shah and the BCCI’s president, Saurav Ganguly, expressed their desire that Women’s IPL would take place which, due to COVID-19 reasons, got delayed. While speaking to PTI recently, following the e-auction for the IPL’s media rights 2023-2027, Shah expressed the idea of Women’s IPL, in fact very important to him and the inaugural edition would start with 5-6 teams.
This is a project which is very close to my heart. We will start with either five or six teams in the first edition. I am thrilled at the kind of response we have got from stakeholders. Multiple existing IPL teams have enquired and expressed serious interest in owning WIPL franchises,
