The international governing body of Football sport FIFA stripped U-17 Women World Cup from India on Tuesday reciting a ban over the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) due to ‘Third Party Influence.’ The World Cup was scheduled to be held in October of this year. This is the first time in 85 years of history that the apex governing body of Football is imposing a ban on AIFF.
In a statement, FIFA said, The Bureau of our Council has unanimously decided to ban AIFF with immediate effect due to undue influence from third parties which constitutes a serious violation of the FIFA Status.

The suspension will be lifted once an order to set up a committee of administration to assume the powers of the AIFF Executive Committee has been repealed and the AIFF administration regains full control of the AIFF’s daily affairs, added FIFA.
Earlier, On August 5FIFA, threatened to ban AIFF and take away the right of the U-17 World Cup (Women) host a few days after the Supreme Court of India heard a plea regarding the AIFF concerns and was directed to hold the elections of the national football federation.
