'We saw it with Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, Tendulkar and Ganguly': Top BCCI official addresses Kohli vs Rohit debate

If the cricket fans are asked to choose between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, then probably you might get answers like “Both”, but do you know why? Because both players are star performers for India and who have given their lot, supporting the Indian National Cricket team. But to answer the same, there can be nobody better than the BCCI treasurer, Arun Dhumal who has been part of the BCCI inside-out. Let’s have a look to what has to say on the duo,

We never think about it. It is the passion of fans that drives them and this debate. When you are attached to an emotion, then you tend to say all that. And social media is a platform where you can talk about anything. They speak their heart out because there are no restrictions. That is why people think it persists. We saw the same with Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, or later between Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. On social media, matters amplify to an extent that people believe all this is true,Another question posted by Vimal Kumar to Dhumal was about the BCCI vs Virat Kohli’s captaincy saga and can he share some light on it? In response, Dhumal said,

Dhumal

As far as the issue of captaincy is concerned, it was his call. He decided that mujhe ab nahi karni hai captaincy (that I don’t want to captain). It is possible that someone feels it’s best to do it after the World Cup but that is their point of view. But he wanted to quit, and it was purely his decision. And we respected it. See, he has contributed so much to Indian cricket that everyone in the cricket board respects him. We would like to see Virat in action on the ground,

From Kohli’s point of view, last year after the ICC world cup that was held in the UAE, Virat Kohli stepped down from his position of captaincy, which according to the BCCI was a mutual thing between the BCCI and Virat Kohli.

But the news flames became more powerful, when Virat Kohli rubbished all theories and criticized BCCI and its chief saying that wasn’t given a chance to address his point and wasn’t treated fairly. According to him, he was removed from his captaincy abruptly.
