Royal Challengers Bangalore maintained a slow over rate for the alternate time in the 2023 edition of IPL against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. Stand-in captain Virat Kohli and the entire team has slammed with a penalty for the offense under the IPL’s law of Conduct. If the platoon continues to do so for one further match it’ll have severe impacts. In the match against RR which RCB won by seven runs, Kohli has fined Rs.24 Lakh and each member of the playing XI, including the impact player, has fined Rs.6 Lakh or 25 percent of the match figure. That means whichever is lower for maintaining a slow-over rate for the alternate time.
Before, the regular captain Faf du Plessis too had punished with a fine of Rs. 12 Lakhs for the same offense in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. RCB have their match listed for April 26, Wednesday against Kolkata Knight Riders. The team will have to end their bowling within the distributed time of 90 overs, including 5 overs of two strategic time-outs. If they fail to do so, the captain will face a ban for one match and a penalty of Rs. 30 Lakhs. This rule will apply to Kohli or regular captain du Plessis, whoever will be leading the platoon in the game.

Which are the rules of the slow-over rate for IPL 2023?
Talking about the rules of slow-over rate, if a bowling platoon isn’t suitable to complete their 20 overs within the quested time, also it means that they’ve broken this rule. In IPL, brigades have 90 minutes to drift 20 overs.
This includes 85 overs of playing time and two strategic time-outs of 150 seconds each with five- nanosecond places. Still, the timings of DRS and injuries aren’t included. Still, their captain is fined Rs. 12 Lakh, if a platoon takes further than 90 minutes to drift 20 overs in an IPL match. For breaking this rule for the alternate time, the captain has to pay Rs. 24 Lakhs as a penalty. Along with this, they also fined the remaining 10 players of the entire platoon this time. They’ve to pay Rs. 6 Lakhs or 25% of their match figure.
Any captain, who commits this mistake for the third time, has to pay a penalty of Rs. 30 Lakhs in addition to a one-match ban. The remaining 10 players will have a fine of Rs. 12 Lakhs or 50% of the match figure, whichever is lower.
