Australia’s left-handed opener batter David Warner has claimed that the lifetime captaincy ban imposed on him by Cricket Australia is not just a result of the 2018 sandpaper scandal. He said that there was “more to it”, including 2017’s dispute between the country’s cricket board and players over pay scale. At that time, Cricket Australia reportedly threatened players over a pay dispute. As per the report, Warner is set to discuss with CA to end his above lifetime leadership ban in the national team.

 However, the 35-year-old left-handed opener has been included in the Australia squad for the T20 World Cup 2022.
