Novak Djokovic’s winning fire continued to rage on Friday at Tel Aviv Open in Israel, he defeated Canada’s Vasek Pospisil in a hard battle in the quarter-final and qualified for the semi-finals. The Serbian star defeated his 149-ranked opponent by 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in just two hours. It was Djokovic’s sixth meeting against the 32-year-old Canadian player.
Earlier, the 35-year-old Serbian professional thrashed Spain’s 115th– ranked Pablo Andujar in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 just in 86 minutes.
It was a great positive win, said Djokovic, who is currently playing his first ATP tour-level tournament since winning Wimbledon in July of this year.

Djokovic who was not allowed to participate in the recently concluded US Open 2022 in United State due to not having the Covid-19 vaccine dose,is shining in Tel Aviv from day one and won the first battle against Spain’s Andujar very easily, but he was seen struggling in the first set as 7-6(7-5)against the Canadian opponent. After winning first set, he easily overcome in the second set as 6-3.
Vasek is one of my best friends on the Tour. We have known each other for many years.
It is never easy playing someone you respect so much and like so much, but we are both professionals and wanted to win the match and you can see that, Djokovic added.

Djokovic will next meet Russian 104-ranked Roman Safiullin in the semi-finals (men’s singles) of the tournament today. On the other hand, the second semi-finals will be played between ATP’s 16 ranking Croatian player Marlin Cilic and French Constant Lestienne today.
