The ICC has announced the Australia & India test cricket tour 2023 final to be played at the Oval from 7th-11th June. Due to KL Rahul’s injuries, Ishan Kishan has been named as his replacement. The Indian team is all prepared to face off against Australia in a 4-day test cricket tour in The Oval.
With the announcement, the absence of Jasprit Bumrah & return of Ajinkya Rahane is also confirmed. The updated squad list also mentions that KL Rahul will not be joining the rest of the squad due to the leg injury he sustained during the IPL, & will be undergoing surgery for the same. He will also undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, afterwards. Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan has been named as his replacement.
Along with KS Bharat & in Rishabh Pant’s absence Kishan will be the second wicket-keeper in the team. The decision on whether he will be joining the squad is still pending due to his shoulder injury. Umesh Yadav too had a hamstring injury while playing for KKR & is currently under rehabilitation. The 3 standby players are KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad & Mukesh Kumar.
