The women’s international cricket tournament is currently going on, and South Africa has just finished the three-match Twenty20 series against the Ireland. During the series, the Proteas women were seen leading by 2-1 and winning the T20I series.
In the first T20I match, Ireland’s bowling attack was strong enough to beat the South African batsmen and restrict them to 133. Accurate bowling and lower scoring meant they won the match by 10 runs.
Whereas in the second match between South Africa Women vs Ireland Women, the South Africans were able to score 106 runs in 15 overs. This match helped the South Africans gain the lead after losing the previous match to Ireland. Lara Goodall’s 52 off 40 and Anneke Bosch’s 32 not out helped South Africa chase down a small total of 106 in just 15 overs.
The third ODI ended just as the first two ODIs did, where the South African women’s team managed to chase down the target of 104 runs set by the Irish women’s team by the help of Lara Goodall’s 48 runs and Anneke Bosch’s 44 not out.
The Ireland Women will be trying to settle the scores with the women’s cricket team in the upcoming ODI series, between them and will likely to take the lead.
