Based on Gill’s brilliance, India scored 234 for 4 after batting. The New Zealand batsmen never got off the ground in a massive chase as the Indian bowlers played in unison to bowl the visitors for just 66 in 12.1 overs. This is Kiwi’s third-lowest score in the format. After losing the first T20I by 21 runs last week, Men in Blue rebounded under Hardik Pandya‘s captaincy with a nervous victory in the second T20I and Wednesday’s game was a win-win contest.
India chose to bat after winning the toss. That decision worked wonders for Shubman Gill, who recorded the first T20I Century, which had just debuted in the format in early January. His smash saw the hosts make him a staggering total of 234/4, but New Zealand couldn’t manage even half of that as they drew by just 66 in his 12.1 overs.
This is yet another series for India in 2023 after winning both his ODI series against Sri Lanka and his T20I series and his ODI series against Black Caps.
