Shreyas Iyer reached the milestone throughout the match between Bangladesh and India in Chattogram, which started on Wednesday.
With 1609 runs from 40 innings, Iyer is currently India’s leading run-scorer across formats this year. Suryakumar Yadav i.e. SKY has scored 1424 runs from 43 innings across the 3 formats in 2022 for India.
Rishabh Pant is 3rd on the list, with 1380 runs from 43 innings. Also, Virat Kohli is at 4th with 1348 runs from 41 innings.
Rohit Sharma is presently not taking part in the initial phase because of injury. He is in the fifth spot, with 995 runs from forty innings.
Shreyas Iyer compete in a polar role when India opted to bat on Wednesday. Coming back into bat with India’s score reading 112/4, Iyer cast a 149-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara(90).
At stumps, India was 278/6, having lost Axar Patel, Iyer remains not out on 82 heading to Day 2.
The 28-year-old Iyer received a lifeline when, in the 84th over, he was seemingly bowled by Ebadot Hossain. But the bails failed to fall off, eventually giving Shreyas Iyer yet one more probability of him being not out.
This year has been great to Shreyas for this achievement. He has passed all legendary batsmen from the great Indian batting side while doing so. Also, he has established his undoubted selection in almost all the cricket formats for the next year. He can guide the side, as well with shining performances.
