Shahid Afridi, the former big hitter of the Pakistani cricket team and still the heartthrob for many around the world questions Virat Kohli’s ability to be as the number one or not. The questioning comes in a time when the former cricketer has headed for London, to conclude the remaining 5th match of the test series against the English from the last year (2021).
What he stated exactly can seen below, have a look,
“In cricket, attitude matters the most. That is what I talk about the most. Do you have the attitude towards cricket or not? That Kohli, earlier in his career, wanted to be the No. 1 batsman in the world is he still playing cricket with the same motivation? That is the big question,”
Shahid Afridi
He further added,
“He has the class. But does he really even want to be No. 1 again? Or does he think he has achieved everything in life. Now just relax and pass time? It’s all about attitude.”
Shahid Afridi
Now, such questioning from veteran cricketers about the playing youngster would look quite normal (which is not) but the problem with the statement made by the former cricketer from Pakistan, does not seem fine. It is not actually the statement made, but the timing at which it is made.
Now you readers would be scratching your head thinking about what’s the catch here. Don’t worry we’ll tell you. Everybody knows how shrewd the veteran former cricketer has been in his playing days and how deceptive was he on the pitch which still remains intact till this date. You know, I know, the ICC’s No.1 top cricketer and the skipper of the Pakistani team, Babar Azam is at the top of his career and if there’s anybody who can shake his throne would be none other than the person we have talked about above, Virat Kohli, a name who needs no introduction. He has been the leading face for the Indian cricket till 2018 but unfortunately due to his bad form & fierce aggression on field is not liked by the most.
The question from us would be, why did Shahid did not spoke anything about Virat Kohli before and why now, especially at the time when the cricketer is struggling with his current form and on top of it the most damaging part for the 33-year-old cricketer Virat Kohli is the uninvited comments as the one mentioned above by the former Pakistani cricketer.
We wish the best for Virat Kohli for his upcoming tour!!
