Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna moved to the mixed doubles semi-finals of the ongoing Australian Open 2023. They received a bye from their opponents on Tuesday. The pair were scheduled to face Latvian and Spanish players Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez respectively. But the duo qualified for the Kast-Over after receiving a pushover. On Wednesday, Sania Mirza and Bopanna will compete in the Australian Open semi-final at Margaret Court Arena. They will play against the Brit Neal Skupski and the American Desirae Krawczyk. The game is scheduled to start tomorrow at 11:15 am.
Earlier, Mirza and Bopanna had won the second round of mixed doubles. That was against Ariel Behar of Uruguay and Makoto Ninomiya of Japan to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Indian mixed couple won the first round against Australia’s Jaimee Fourlis and Luke Saville. Mirza has already announced that this will be the final Grand Slam of her illustrious career.
