Take a look at all of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy triumphs as the team registered a win over Vidarbha to clinch their 42nd win in the tournament on Thursday.

All-time national heavyweights, Mumbai ended an eight-year drought by winning their 42nd Ranji Trophy title. Their incredible victory came on the fifth and final day of the tournament against a consistent Vidarbha team by 169 runs. The victory was even sweeter than Mumbai led by Ajinkya Rahane, who achieved the record at their home, the famous Wankhede Stadium.

As they resumed their innings on the fifth day, Vidarbha’s resolve faced a test with a target of 538 runs set by the visitors, with the score at 248 for five. Despite the challenge, Vidarbha skipper Akshay Wadkar came out ahead with a determined century, while Harsh Dubey chipped in with 65.

Their tenacity kept the Mumbai bowlers at bay during the first session, raising hopes of an unlikely victory. However, Mumbai Bows’ unrelenting aggression paid off as they dismissed Vidarbha for 368 runs, securing the coveted Ranji Trophy title.
