Indian shooting star Manu Bhaker made history by bagging his second bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. With this event, he became the first Indian athlete to win two medals in the same edition of the Summer Olympics since independence. Manu, 22, won her first bronze medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event, while her second bronze medal was won in the 10m mixed air rifle team event, alongside Sarabjot Singh.

Before independence, Norman Pritchard, a British citizen of Indian origin, won two medals at the 1900 Summer Olympics. He won silver medals in the men’s 200m and 200m hurdles events.

Who is Sarabjot Singh? The Punjab batsman has partnered with Bhaker in mixed-team events

The 20-year-old Punjab native is making waves in the shooting circuit with his impressive skills and consistency.

Sarabjot’s journey to the Olympics began at an early age, with his father, a former soldier. He started training in 2017 and quickly rose through the ranks, winning several national and international titles.
At the Paris Olympics, Sarabjot did not qualify for the finals of the 10m air rifle event. But the young bowler produced some brilliant shots in the 10m individual event, alongside Manu Bhaker, to win the bronze medal.

Sarabjot’s strength lies in his mental strength and ability to handle pressure. He attributes his success to his coach, Rahul Pandit, and the unwavering support of his family.

Sarabjot’s mantra for shooting success is simple: “I shoot one shot at a time and focus on my technique,” he said before the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
