Kohli, Hasaranga among big movers following latest ranking update

India’s star batter Virat Kohli and Sri Lanka’s all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga have jumped in the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings for their dominant performance at the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE.

At the tournament, Kohli amassed an impressive 276 runs, with his first international century in nearly more than 1000 days, and jumped 14 ranks up from 29th to 15th spot among all T20I batters, while Hasaranga has moved up 9th spot to 6th in the bowlers ranking and in all-rounders rankings he benefitted for 7 spots and moved from 11th to 4th spot.

The 25-year-old all-rounder player helped Sri Lanka to win their sixth Asia Cup title against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday, September 11. In the match, he scored 33 runs and took three wickets for his team. He took the highest total 9 wickets in the tournament with a 7.39 Economy rate and scored 66 runs with a 150 Strike Rate.

For his impressive performance, Hasaranga bagged the ‘Man of the Series Award’.
