Team India’s fire was continue in rage against the Caribbean in Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on Friday as India won the first T20 match by 68 runs. The batters and bowlers both were in dominant performances. Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma completed his brilliant half century in 35 balls; he totally scored 64 off 44 balls. Dinesh Karthik(44 off 19 balls) also performed in stormy form and he bagged the player of the match award. Following the debut win, India take lead 1-0 in the five matches series.

            West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first as they had included Pacer Obed McCoy and Akel Hosein in their squad. Indian opening pair destroyed their will to win by above changes in the start of the game. Sharma and Suryakumar yadav trounced the WI’s pacers, scored 44 in 4 overs in partnership. Yadav went to the pavilion as first wicket loss. Even after him, Indian batters were continue in attacking form till the end,  and all trounced WI’s bowlers.  Skipper Sharma completed his brilliant half-century in 35 balls; he totally scored 64 off 44 balls including 7 fours, 2 sixes. The dual role player wicketkeeper and batter Dinesh Karthik scored 44 (19 balls including two fours; not out) in very storming form for 7th number. Ravindra Jadeja (16 off 13 balls, 2 fours) and Rishabh Pant (14 off balls, two fours) performed good in their respective batting order. Finally, team scored 190/6 in 20 overs.

            While chasing the huge target given by India, Caribbean batters could not stand before the Indian bowler’s pace and all succumbed on 122/8 in 20 overs. The WI opener Kyle Mayers (15 off 6 balls, 2 fours, 1 six), Sharmarh Brooks (20 off 15 balls, 2 fours, 1 six), Captain Nicholas Pooran (18 off 15 balls, 1 four, 1 six), Shimron H (14 off 15 balls) scored for their team.

            Indian Bowler R. Ashwin showe superb bowling perform as he took 2/22 wickest in 4 overs. Ravi Bishol also booked 2/26 in 4 ov.
