The Skipper Shikhar Dhawan starts with bang by winning first match against West Indies in three matches ODI series. The team India won the match by three runs facing a very tough battle from Caribbean side at Queen’s Park Oval on Friday. The Pacer Mohammed Siraj played the most pivotal role in India’s win as he succeeds to save 15 runs in last over.

          Indian Opener batter Skipper Dhawan and Shubhman Gill came to pitch for batting as West indies won the toss and decided to bowl first. Dhawan (97 off 99 balls; 10fours, 3 sixes) and Gill (54 off 53 balls; 6 fours, 2 sixes) performed brilliantly and scored 119 in partnership. Following the good opening by dhawan and gill, team India scored 308/7 in 50 overs and raised a huge target before West Indies.

          The Indian middle batter could not perform good as much as they have big chance to show their capability in absence of senior player of the team. Only Shreyas Iyer(54 off 57 balls, 5 fours, 2 sixes) performed a little bit good after opener batters. Surya Kumar Yadav (14 off 13 balls, 2fours), Deepak Hooda (27, off 32 balls, 1 four, 1 six), Axar Patel (21 off 21 balls, 1 four, 1 six) scored for the team in respective batting order.

          In the second inning while chasing the target, The Caribbean batters turned the battle in very tough mode as they performed against Indian bowlers from initial of the inning. No one can say that West Indies will lose the match, but finally in last over Indian Pacer M. Siraj (10-0-57-2) Succeed to save the 15 runs as the team India won the match by 3 runs and took lead of 1-0 in three matches ODI series. Kyle Mayers (75 off 68 balls, 10 fours, 1 six) scored the highest from West Indies Side, Brandon King(54, off 66 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes), Sharmarth Brooks (46 off 61 balls 4 fours, 1 six), Romario Shepherd( 39 off 25 balls, 3 fours, 2 sixes) also scored brilliantly from their team side.

          The Caribbean last order batter Shepherd could not make his team win, but he won everyone’s heart by his storming batting. Shepherd scored 39 off 25 balls not out as 50 over finished. Critics said, “It was very exciting moment of the match when shepherd were batting, he could not make his team win, but he won the audience’s heart,” in the end of match.
