- The mega ICC flagship event will take place in county as first time after 2013
The Great news for Indian cricket fans came on Tuesday that country will host the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025. This announcement was done by International Cricket Council (ICC) officials in their Annual Conference that held in Birmingham. This is the first time when country will organize the mega ICC flagship tournament in its boundary lines since 2013.
ICC Officials said,
The host nations for every ICC women’s tournament between 2024-2027 have been confirmed. The four women’s tournaments will take place in upcoming four years, starting with the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 which will first time take place in Bangladesh.

A year later, the ICC’s action will move to India for the Women’s World Cup 2025. This edition of Women’s World Cup will be India’s fifth hosting an ICC flagship tournament. There will be Eight team competing for trophy in the World Cup and total 31 matches will be played in the tournament
Into the detailing order, official said that The Great England will be host for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026 as the next calendar event. It would be the first chance for England to host the mega event under the top international cricket governing body.
The final mega event which is scheduled in 2027, the Women’s ICC Champions Trophy based on T20 format to be held in the Sri Lanka. There will be six teams competing for the trophy across 16 matches. The entire announcement came after successful competitive bidding process.
BCCI is much excited to for the Women’s World Cup in 2025.
BCCI said in a tweet,
Excitement Level Up after the final announcement by the ICC as India to host the 2025 Women’s World Cup. The 50 over World Cup returns to the country after 2013. It was great experience as we successfully completed the event at that time when Australia emerged Champion after beating the West Indies
After completing the conference, the BCCI Chairman and former legend cricketer Sourav Ganguly said in an interview.
We were keen to on hosting the ICC Women’s Cricket World 2025 and we are very glad as we won the hosting rights for this marquee clash on the women’s calendar
The BCCI secretary Jay Shah reacted that the popularity of women’s cricket is rapidly rising, and this is a step in the right direction.
Shah added,
We are taking several steps to raise the profile of the sport right from the grassroots level and hosting the World Cup will further boost the popularity of the sport in the country
