It’s been a long march for the Indian team for a Cup win after 2007, their first T20World cup win by beating Pakistan during the final.
After an unsatisfactory performance at the 2021 T20I World Championships that failed to reach the semi-finals, Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, is hoping for a better performance in Australia this time.
The 2022 T20I World Cup tournament will be held in Australia. The Men in Blue will face Pakistan in the opening match of the 2022 T20I World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 23 October. India is having teams such as Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh in their pool in Group2.
Recent team performances in T20
When the two teams last met in the 2021 T20I World Championship, Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in a Super 12 match in Dubai and beat Pakistan at the World Championship. India has been excluded from the group stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Alongside Pakistan, India will face Bangladesh and South Africa as well as the Group A runner-up and Group B winner.

It will be the third time this year that the two teams will meet on the cricket field. At the Asian Cup 2022, Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in the group stage’s first league but lost in the second league. The batting of the team is stable, and the main players are active. Mohammed Shami was injured and he replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the team. Indian bowlers are giving so many runs in all their recent matches. If they improve their bowling, they could have an edge in this match.
